Dear Hereford Alumni,
It was like a breath of fresh air being in Hereford,
Texas for the first time in several years on Sunday,
March 12, 2006. As founder of the Hereford High
School Alumni Association, I was in Hereford to
promote the Hereford Alumni 2006 Multi-Class
Reunion. In
addition, I was humbled and blessed to have
scheduled an opportunity to share my talents as a
singer/songwriter that Sunday morning in a place
that I hadn't been to in a while. That
place was the First
Baptist Church of Hereford. "Oh yeah, I remember
this!", I'd say to myself as cold wind gusts of more
than 50 MPH blew sand across Hereford's downtown
Main Street. The memory of those sand storms
came back to me in an instant. The "fresh air" was
being able to see old friends and acquaintances that
I thought I'd never see again. And it was refreshing
to be able to share my talents as an artist in a place
where I was greatly appreciated. "Home is a place
where...when you have to go there, they have
to take you in". That quote certainly signifies a
sense of family I felt after not only seeing some of
my own family still living in Hereford, but others
from "back in the day". Just to see faces from days
gone bye - like those of varsity football coaches,
Larry Wartes and Don Compton after Sunday morning
church
services was indeed priceless! And to see my high
school biology teacher, Mr. Mal Manchee, was
absolutely wonderful!
For those of us who no longer live in the town we
grew up in, nothing can replace the nostaligia
of being home. But as someone once said, "home
is where the heart is". So if you are not
as fortunate as I was to have gone home for a day
or two, then make plans to gather with "home folk"
when we meet in Grapevine, Texas this summer for
the Hereford Alumni 2006 Multi-Class Reunion on July
14 and 15. (From the Editor - Lee Mays, a.k.a.
Percy
Mays - Class of 70)

| Deadline Date: Register Before May 31 And Save! |
 |
|
The best time to register for the Hereford Alumni
2006 Multi-Class Reunion is before May 31,
2006. Why? Well, there are actually
two reasons:
The first being that May 31 is the last day that
Hereford alumni can submit bio information and
photos to be included in the reunion's Memory Book.
Secondly, May 31 is also the date that the reunion
registration fee of $100 per person ends and
increases to $125 per person starting on June 1. So
don't delay, get your reunion registration and Memory
Book forms completed and faxed or mailed today. To
print the forms from your computer just click onto
the link below.

| Still In Need Of Class Mail Lists For Reunion Mail Campaign |
 |
|
All Points Bulletin! With about 100
days left to go until
the big, mid-July reunion in Grapevine, the alumni
association's search committee is still in need of mail
lists from certain classes and their coordinators.
Close to 2,200 full-color post cards have been
mailed to our alumni during the months of February
and March, but a lot of folks have yet
to receive a formal invitation announcing the multi-
class reunion. While time is running
out, it is not too late for
us to get the word out to them. We do not have an
organized lists of physical or electronic email
addresses for the following classes: Classes of 59,
60, 62, 63, 66, 67 73, 75, 76, 77, 78, 80, 81, 83, 84,
and 85. If you graduated from Hereford High School
during any of the above years and possess a list of
your classmates, then please contact us
immediately. Please send your list to: HHS Alumni
Association, 1108 Oakridge Drive, Euless, Texas
76040. Phone 817-267-2608, Fax 817-868-0796.

| Reunion Registration: Now Use Your Visa Or MasterCard And Pay No Extra Service Charge |
 |
|
Now you can register for the Hereford Alumni 2006
Multi-Class Reunion using your Visa or MasterCard,
and pay no extra
service fee. Up until now, a 2% service fee was
added to all credit card transactions and reunion
registration fees. This now means that you can not
only register for the reunion using your Visa or
MasterCard, but also pay for the reunion's activities
such as the alumni golf tournament, golf shirts,
reunion sponsorships or
any other purchases with the use of your plastic
money. Discover, American Express, and PayPal,
however, will no longer be accepted. To avoid
adding that extra 2% service fee on registrations,
etc., it was in the best interest of the alumni
association to drop these cards due to the nearly 3%
transaction fee the association was expected to pay
for credit card processing services.

| From High School Sweethearts To The Hotel Industry - The Hardins Are Still Going Strong |
 |
The amazing thing about Alan Hardin (Class of 71)
and his wife, Sheila Olson Hardin (Class of 71),
is
that they got married while still attending Hereford
High School. The other amazing thing about the
Hardins is that after more than 36 years of marriage,
that are still together! When you ask them about
their marriage they will say that they credit their
success to "trusting in the Lord for all things". "God
took a tragic event early in our marriage to change
both of our lives, creating a foundation and making
us stronger", says Alan. Alan and Sheila both serve
on the reunion's planning committee and are in the
Hotel Management industry in Sherman, Texas. Very
close to their hearts are their three children and two
grandchildren. The Hardins are proud to say that
each of their children are married and have their
college degrees. Their son,
Bobby is employed with Bank of American and lives in
Flower Mound, Texas. Oldest daughter, Alana is
director of sales for the Radisson Hotel in Denton,
Texas. And youngest daughter, Heather is employed
as a first grade teacher in Denton. Leisure tme is
spent watching their grandson, Taylor age 15, play
football and baseball; and their granddaughter,
Sydney age 8, play volleyball. Mr. Hardin's true love
is riding on one of his Harley Davison motorcyles and
every year he and Sheila spend a couple of weeks
during the summer cycling across America. The
Hardins live in Prosper, Texas and enjoy attending
church at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco
where Chuck Swindoll is pastor.
